International Diabetes and Endocrine Congress, 2016 was inaugurated on 19th– 21st August, 2016. The inauguration ceremony was a graceful occasion heavily attended by the dignitaries, health care professionals and people from all walks of life. Prof. Zahida Baqai was the chief guest.The two days scientific sessions proceeded very successfully and in an organized fashion. Over 40 delegates and speakers from 22 countries. Pakistan Working on Diabetic Foot (PWGDF) organized the “International Diabetic Foot Symposium” in collaboration with Baqai Institute of Diabetology and Endocrinology on 21st to 23rd August 2015 at Hotel Regent Plaza, Karachi. The objective was to discuss the current practices in Diabetic Foot management, to provide hands-on skills to the participants and to share the valued experiences. The training encompassed a wide horizon of diabetic foot problem, including prevention and early diagnosis, clinical & surgical management and recent advances in targeted therapies for diabetic foot. Practical workshops were the distinctive feature of this symposium. Over 300 health care professionals from across the country including subject specialists and eminent experts shared their diversified experience in this area. […]

Half an hour walk, daily, is the best exercise for prevention of many ailments, including diabetes If left uncontrolled, diabetes canlead to serious complications such as heart disease, kidney failure, blindness & foot ulcers, culminating in leg amputation Insulin is “lifesaving” for the children suffering from diabetes. No diabetic child should be deprived of insulin Diabetes in pregnancy can lead to serious consequences both for the mother and the baby. All pregnant ladies must be screened for diabetes. Diabetes Awareness walk,held. Hundreds of People Participated.
