The Department of Physiotherapy provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to assist adults and children in overcoming physical, neurological, cognitive impairments, disabilities and handicaps. The department has two full time trained senior physiotherapists and its clinical expertise. All physiotherapists work with an interdisciplinary team to restore physical functions, relieve pain and minimize the psychological, social and vocational efforts of disability.

The services offered are, cardiac rehabilitation programme, orthotic and prosthetic clinic, paediatric rehabilitation, general orthopaedic conditions, neuro-rehabilitation, lumbar and cervical tractions, chest physical therapy, hydrotherapy, gait training, treatment for pain through Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation (TENS), and other electrapeutic modalities. Department has extended its services to home based physiotherapy as well.

HOW TO GET APPOINTMENT

We offer appointments from 8.00am to 4.00pm Mon to Sat. Initial appointments are 45 minutes but can be 1 hour. Subsequent appointments will vary with the problem and will range from 30 - 45 minutes. Referral by a doctor is not a requirement, however, if you are seeking reimbursement from private health insurance companies they will want you to have spoken to you doctor first. At your first visit the physiotherapist will be able to give you some idea of the number of treatments you will need. As a guide our average number is just less than 5. We do maintain close relationships with all our patients doctors both G.Ps and consultants and unless requested not to, will write to them outlining the condition, progress etc.

Home-based Physiotherapy Services

In response to growing demand from patients and consultants from within and outside BIDE, the Physiotherapy Department has started Home-based Physiotherapy services. We are providing these services for whole Karachi Highly qualified physiotherapists, equipped with sophisticated modalities will treat neurological, neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary disorders, and assure high quality services in the patients' homes.

All these services are available from Monday to Saturday. (in some cases we can provide these services on Sunday)
